📖 About the Ragamuffin — The Ragdoll Split
The Ragamuffin was created in the 1990s when Ragdoll breeders broke away from Ann Baker's restrictive IRCA registry. They crossed Ragdolls with Persians, Himalayans, and domestic longhairs to expand the gene pool and allow ALL colors and patterns — unlike Ragdolls (limited to colorpoint). The result: a larger, more diverse breed with the same "floppy" temperament. Key differences from Ragdolls: ALL eye colors accepted (not just blue), ALL coat colors/patterns accepted, larger body size. CFA recognized in 2011. Same HCM and PKD concerns. Same INDOOR ONLY requirement — zero survival instinct.
