📖 About the Oriental Shorthair

The Oriental Shorthair was created by breeding Siamese with non-colorpoint cats — producing the same elegant tubular body in every color except the Siamese pointed pattern. They share the Siamese's extreme body type but their eyes are green (not blue) and they come in 300+ recognized color/pattern combinations: solid, tabby, tortoiseshell, smoke, shaded, bicolor. Intensely people-oriented — more like dogs than cats. Extremely vocal (Siamese voice), intelligent, climb everything, open cabinets. They perch on shoulders like parrots. NOT for households where everyone's gone all day. Same health concerns as Siamese: Amyloidosis, PRA, asthma, nystagmus.
