Lykoi Cat
The "werewolf cat" — a partially hairless, roan-coated creature that looks like a tiny werewolf and acts like a loyal dog. Discovered in feral cat colonies, NOT created in a lab. DNA testing at UC Davis proved the mutation is COMPLETELY UNIQUE — not related to Sphynx or Devon Rex. Complete guide: the roan coat that molts and regrows, and why this is one of the healthiest new breeds.

📖 About the Lykoi
The Lykoi (Greek for "wolf") was discovered in feral cat colonies in Tennessee and Virginia around 2010. Dr. Johnny Gobble and geneticists at UC Davis confirmed the mutation is completely unique — NOT related to Sphynx, Devon Rex, or any other hairless/curly breed. The recessive gene causes partial hypotrichosis: no undercoat + sparse guard hairs = "roan" werewolf appearance. The coat molts periodically — may go nearly bald then regrow. TICA recognized in 2017. Always black roan (the only color). Remarkably healthy — mutation appears to affect only hair follicles. Skin requires Sphynx-like care: weekly bathing, sun protection. Dog-like loyal personality.
