Cornish Rex Cat
The Marcel wave cat — a greyhound-sleek body covered in tight, uniform ripples. The softest cat on Earth (NO guard hairs — only down). Those enormous bat ears, that arched back. Complete guide: the genetic discovery that NO GUARD HAIRS = uniquely soft coat, the Kalibunker origin story (first rex cat, 1950), and why this breed is a heat-seeking missile that MUST sleep under your covers.

📖 About the Cornish Rex
The Cornish Rex originated from a single curly-coated kitten named Kalibunker, born to a farm cat in Cornwall, England, in 1950 — the first-ever recognized curly-coat mutation in cats. NO guard hairs — only soft, wavy down hairs (undercoat). Every other breed has 3 hair types (guard, awn, down). The Cornish Rex has ONLY down — creating a uniquely soft coat like silk velvet. Devon × Cornish = straight-coated kittens — completely different genes. Low-shedding, hypoallergenic. No insulation — they feel warm to the touch and seek heat obsessively: under covers, on radiators, on laptops, ON their humans. Burn more calories staying warm — need more food. Patellar luxation, HCM screening recommended.
